Bodega SOMMOS: an avant-garde winery in the heart of the Somontano whose architecture is recognized by the international press as “One of the Architectural Wonders of the Wine World”. Sommos is a geometric game, cubes intermingling to give rise to a prism. A commitment to knowledge, to be so much more than just a winery in which wine is made.
Our tasting room is the ideal space to discover the complexity of our wines. A place where there are no distractions and your senses focus on experiencing the subtleties that our wines are willing to offer you. From coupage wines that express the contemporary character of the Somontano D.O., to our "Collection of single varietals from singular vineyards", in which wines of great complexity are created through a combination of the terroir with the different micro-climates and our know-how.
Standing 27 metres tall, our processing premises has been designed to use gravity to move the grapes, must and wine. This allows us to avoid the traditional use of pumps. Our production involves French oak vats, concrete and stainless steel tanks of various capacities to be able to ferment each plot separately, thus respecting the potential of each terroir. We have optical selection equipment that selects grapes individually to ensure they meet the optimum quality conditions. Finally, in our barrel room we find an exquisite park of French oak barrels to add complexity to our wines while respecting their character. Bodega SOMMOS owns 355 hectares of vineyard in the Somontano region. We grow low-yielding strains, placing emphasis on quality over production. Our grapes are small in size, tasty and aromatic. We monitor and lavish attention on them 365 days a year, considering the terrain, orientation, weather, humidity and any other environmental factor that may affect the grapes. At Sommos we are so proud of our work in the Somontano D.O. that we are delighted to show you how we make our wines, from start to finish. From the vineyards to the different stages in the winery, and, naturally, rounding off with a tasting of our wines. And we can complement all this with endless activities in an incomparable setting, such as horseback riding, "segway" tours, pairing tastings and the culinary delights of our restaurant. When are you coming to see us?

Hidden in the foothills of the Pyrenees, these 80 years old Garnacha vines produce an exceptional wine – Secastilla, a unique estate which produces very special Garnacha wines.
Our aim is to make concentrated and complex wines which have the aromas and flavours typical of their terroir which are unrepeatable. The wines can only be produced from the Secastilla estate, a vineyard surrounded by seven hills planted with olive trees and lowland, wild herbs – giving lush complexity to these delicious Garnachas.
La Miranda de Secastilla Garnacha, made from the Garnacha, Syrah and the native Parraleta varieties, results in an expressive, aromatic and round red wine.
In “La Miranda” estate, the White Garnacha vines grow, age and mature until they are manually harvested, in a careful and delicate way. To achieve greater complexity, this unique Somontano white wine remains for four months in French oak barrels. Finesse and elegance stand out on the nose, where it awakens aromas of white fruit. On the palate it is smooth, clean and balanced, leaving a pleasant memory and reflecting the unique terroir from which it comes: the Secastilla Valley.

The winery is a modern minimalist building in the midst of the countryside with spectacular views of the vineyards that surround it and the Pyrenees as a backdrop.
LAUS is like an 'island in the Somontano’, surrounded by water, vines, flowers, sun, air... life. LAUS comes from Latin and means "Praise, Consideration", a name that perfectly reflects the spirit of this Somontano winery. The logo symbolizes the earth in yi-king symbols and represents our essence, the land, the soil on which our vineyard sits. The cellar lies 5.65 metres below ground and has a capacity of up to 4,000 barrels. Located under one of the stretches of water surrounding the building, the temperature and humidity are controlled to ensure the wine ages to perfection. There is, at present, a collection of 1,300 French oak (35%) and mixed oak (65%) (American oak staves and French oak bases) barrels. The LAUS vineyard is spread across different locations in Somontano at altitudes of 350-400 metres above sea level, where the different soils offer the grapes special qualities to obtain characterful white, rosé and red wines.
To better understand the natural philosophy behind LAUS wines, take a stroll among the vineyards with one eye on the Pyrenees. Our winery lies less than five kilometres from Barbastro in the heart of the Somontano and its Wine Route, daring to look the Sierras de La Carrodilla and Guara, and Pueyo monastery head on. So, a walk among its zen-like modern facilities - perfectly integrated into the environment - constitutes an integral wine tourism experience in which what matters most to us stays front and centre: the earth.

Following the principles of minimalist intervention winemaking and combining practices that are at the core of the most avant-garde techniques, ENATE has a portfolio of wines in a great range of styles: from the most sweet-talking, democratic and easy-drinking to the more refined haute couture, some of them undeniably exclusive. Respect for the winemaking tradition combines with design, technology and the avant-garde coexist giving rise to unique creations. These reveal the great expressiveness of each variety and of the Somontano terroir.
In the same way that a winery without wine is unthinkable, at ENATE we assume that art was the essence of our identity. Since 1992, each of our wines has been associated with a renowned painter, with a work of his authorship made for the winery appearing on the label. For this reason, in addition, the winery is the physical bridge between the art of the vineyard and the art of man: the art of wine, the wine of art.
Growing perfectly integrated into their physical environs, the ENATE vineyards provide sustenance akin to the canvas, sketching the colours of the Somontano through the entirety of the vegetative cycle. We transfer this sensory delight with care to our wines, respecting the privileged nature of these lands at the foot of the Pyrenees. At ENATE, we understand that the quality of our wines starts with the land, the vineyard. We have 450 hectares of our own vines allowing us to control and guarantee the quality of our grapes and our vineyard. This is high quality winegrowing based on low per hectare yields, maximum respect for the environment through organic techniques and products, precision viticulture and excellence in the harvest. El Grillo y La Luna is a family winery in Barbastro (Aragon), in the foothills of the Pyrenees, very close to France. It is part of the small and exclusive Somontano Designation of Origin. Patience is the philosophy of our winery as we wait for each grape on each plot to become perfectly ripe. At "El Grillo y la Luna", all good things come to those who wait. Under the premise that wine is born in the vineyard, our wines only come onto the market when they are good and ready, respecting the uniqueness of each vintage. At just 53 hectares, it is one of the smallest wineries in this Aragonese designation. Grillo grapes are harvested by hand. There is no stated harvest date; they are picked once they are perfectly ripe, which is decided by going out into the field and tasting them. Thus, with love, tranquility and determination, we obtain balanced wines which are fresh and full-bodied - exceptional wines in which the terroir and the variety fully express themselves. Blecua dates back to the end of the 11th century, when it was used as a place of retreat by the French Benedictine monks from Santa Fe de Conques. The winery is attached to a beautiful manor house, reminiscent of the architectural style of an Italian villa. This house, built at the end of the 19th century, was restored to build the cellar where our most iconic wine is made: Blecua.
A "signature wine" made only in exceptional vintages from a selection of the best vineyards, clusters and barrels.
Three different stages of painstaking selection make Blecua the wine spectacular wine it is.
First in the vineyard we ensure we are choosing the very best grapes, from each harvest, to hit the sorting table in the winery.
The next stage is in the winery when we discard those bunched that don’t make the grade prior to pressing and fermentation.
Next comes the barrels – only the very best barrels of wine are selected for the final blending after 20 months in new oak barrels before they make the final blend for the Blecua wine that is only produced in exceptional years.
