To be a centenarian is to walk the same land that our ancestors trod, to take care of the same vines that were once cared for by wise heads in the past.
The ageing rooms - old and renovated - where the family's knowledge is fondly protected.
Our motto is one that comprises the flavour of this land. Our wines are marked by the native vines that cling to the soil on gentle hills.
To be a centenarian means winding along with time. Our grandparents transported their wines by hand and today we export them all over the world, but with the same philosophy.
And just along the way, a sheltered nook benefiting greatly from facing the sun. Wine has been cultivated on this land since time immemorial and knowing its secrets excites us.

A journey through unknown Spain.
Spain has hidden regions that are a real treasure, like Calatayud. Where some old Garnachas at altitude give the best of themselves. Settled on slate soils, with a slope, an extreme continental climate, far from highways and cities. In this area, small towns are surrounded by vineyards, with a great passion for nature.
The DO Calatayud is a young designation dating back to 1990. Although the “pueblo concept” does not yet exist, we consider the Garnacha from this area always has beautiful fruit and an excellent concentration. That's why our winemaker Ruben decided to start “Alarba”, a separate winemaking initiative dedicated to the village. As our winemaker Rubén Magallanes says: "Without a doubt. For me, there is nowhere else where red Garnacha is more recognisable than here in the Calatayud region. But then that is because I've worked in this untamed region for twenty years now".
World famous terroirs always have something unique and Calatayud is no different. Its garnacha wines produced on slate soils at higher altitudes show amazing identity and a full-bodied character.
In Calatayud the vineyards grow on the slopes of the mountains between 600 and 1040 meters. For this reason, each wine in our collection is intended to take a sip of the different terroirs and grapes.

The winery is a modern minimalist building in the midst of the countryside with spectacular views of the vineyards that surround it and the Pyrenees as a backdrop.
LAUS is like an 'island in the Somontano’, surrounded by water, vines, flowers, sun, air... life. LAUS comes from Latin and means "Praise, Consideration", a name that perfectly reflects the spirit of this Somontano winery. The logo symbolizes the earth in yi-king symbols and represents our essence, the land, the soil on which our vineyard sits. The cellar lies 5.65 metres below ground and has a capacity of up to 4,000 barrels. Located under one of the stretches of water surrounding the building, the temperature and humidity are controlled to ensure the wine ages to perfection. There is, at present, a collection of 1,300 French oak (35%) and mixed oak (65%) (American oak staves and French oak bases) barrels. The LAUS vineyard is spread across different locations in Somontano at altitudes of 350-400 metres above sea level, where the different soils offer the grapes special qualities to obtain characterful white, rosé and red wines.
To better understand the natural philosophy behind LAUS wines, take a stroll among the vineyards with one eye on the Pyrenees. Our winery lies less than five kilometres from Barbastro in the heart of the Somontano and its Wine Route, daring to look the Sierras de La Carrodilla and Guara, and Pueyo monastery head on. So, a walk among its zen-like modern facilities - perfectly integrated into the environment - constitutes an integral wine tourism experience in which what matters most to us stays front and centre: the earth.

LUIS MARÍN

Over half a century ago, between 1950 and 1967, winegrowers from different municipalities in the Cariñena region formed the five cooperatives and entities that gave rise to "Grandes Vinos" in 1997.
A dream come true lies behind every bottle, one that is the result of the coming together of the over 700 families of winemakers who comprise "Grandes Vinos". Sharing their work and know-how, they create wines that combine tradition and innovation, and know no bounds.
The "cariñena" is the most emblematic variety of grape grown in the vineyards of "Grandes Vinos", a variety that gives life and personality to our wines. And then there is the grenache, another grape from hereabouts which constitutes a fundamental part of our production. A rich and varied landscape full of vineyards of all ages, some over a century old, growing at different altitudes between 320 and 850 meters above sea level, set among a distinctly unique terrain.
While talking about "Grandes Vinos" speaks to a unique land, tradition, sun, rain, effort and dedication, above all, it is a thing of passion. Passion for wine and all that entails. A passion that unifies, allowing us to enjoy and share the best moments of our lives. SEE ALL WINERIES

Following the principles of minimalist intervention winemaking and combining practices that are at the core of the most avant-garde techniques, ENATE has a portfolio of wines in a great range of styles: from the most sweet-talking, democratic and easy-drinking to the more refined haute couture, some of them undeniably exclusive. Respect for the winemaking tradition combines with design, technology and the avant-garde coexist giving rise to unique creations. These reveal the great expressiveness of each variety and of the Somontano terroir.
In the same way that a winery without wine is unthinkable, at ENATE we assume that art was the essence of our identity. Since 1992, each of our wines has been associated with a renowned painter, with a work of his authorship made for the winery appearing on the label. For this reason, in addition, the winery is the physical bridge between the art of the vineyard and the art of man: the art of wine, the wine of art.
Growing perfectly integrated into their physical environs, the ENATE vineyards provide sustenance akin to the canvas, sketching the colours of the Somontano through the entirety of the vegetative cycle. We transfer this sensory delight with care to our wines, respecting the privileged nature of these lands at the foot of the Pyrenees. At ENATE, we understand that the quality of our wines starts with the land, the vineyard. We have 450 hectares of our own vines allowing us to control and guarantee the quality of our grapes and our vineyard. This is high quality winegrowing based on low per hectare yields, maximum respect for the environment through organic techniques and products, precision viticulture and excellence in the harvest. El Grillo y La Luna is a family winery in Barbastro (Aragon), in the foothills of the Pyrenees, very close to France. It is part of the small and exclusive Somontano Designation of Origin. Patience is the philosophy of our winery as we wait for each grape on each plot to become perfectly ripe. At "El Grillo y la Luna", all good things come to those who wait. Under the premise that wine is born in the vineyard, our wines only come onto the market when they are good and ready, respecting the uniqueness of each vintage. At just 53 hectares, it is one of the smallest wineries in this Aragonese designation. Grillo grapes are harvested by hand. There is no stated harvest date; they are picked once they are perfectly ripe, which is decided by going out into the field and tasting them. Thus, with love, tranquility and determination, we obtain balanced wines which are fresh and full-bodied - exceptional wines in which the terroir and the variety fully express themselves.
