Vidadillo

DESCRIPTION

The Vidadillo grape is one of the great unknowns of our region. Growing almost exclusively in the Cariñena area (research suggests it is known in La Rioja Baja as “Graciano de Alfaro” or “Tinta Velasco”), this variety is fairly robust with a long cycle. The impressive tannin structure, acidity and body are the reason it is so special. Historically, these factors make it an ideal complement for varieties such as Garnacha and Tempranillo that require extra intensity, body or tannin structure. For some time now, there have been more single varietal old vine Vidadillos underlining their identity and spectacular potential. Its characteristics make this variety ideal for intensive ageing in wood. The result is a highly interesting range of aromas: wild fruits, plums and spices.
