Syrah

DESCRIPTION

Aragon is a wonderful environment in which to grow the quintessential Tinta Rodaní variety. Known as Shiraz (especially in Australia), this variety can produce multi-layered, full-bodied wines that are full of colour and structure. This variety has typically been used in blends with Garnacha among others, but has sufficient identity and potential for the creation of epic single varietals. In Aragon it is perfectly suited to the vast majority of areas, resulting in intensely aromatic wines, with its typical peppery, smoky and black fruit notes and its floral bouquet, wherein violet predominates. The young wines tend to be succulent and floral, while the wood-aged reds are highly structured and powerful.
