Moscatel de Alejandría

DESCRIPTION

The Alexandria Muscat, also known as “Muscat de Grano Gordo” or “Muscat de Málaga”, is probably the queen of the white varieties used to produce sweet wines in Aragon. This grape is perfectly adapted to our soil and climate conditions with its early budding and lengthy ripening cycle. Its large, loose bunches give us large grapes with a musky flavour. The richness shown on the vine is perceived in the wines themselves: intensely aromatic with characteristic notes of sweet grapes, and exotic aromas of melon and ripe peach. The wines are low in acidity, dense, and often hint at a certain sweetness. When this variety is used to make sweet wines, they are of great intensity, very persistent in the mouth. When used to make dry wines, it is often found alongside white garnacha or macabeo creating very fruity young whites.
