Alcañon

DESCRIPTION

The Alcañon variety is one of our lesser known varieties but is 100% Aragonese, with some vineyards found in each of the three provinces of the region. This grape, found primarily in the Aragonese Somontano, grows in medium-sized bunches with yellowish-green fruit, although some vineyards are home to pinkish clones known as “Alcañon Royo”. Its small productions yield wines low in alcohol content that are mild and aromatic with very unique aromas with citrus and slightly smoky notes, in addition to hints of a wide range of seed and stone fruits. Each bottle of this almost forgotten Aragonese variety is a jewel awaiting discovery.
