Libre y Salvaje does not seek to reclaim the past. It aims to prove that it is still possible to shape the future through respect for the land, the people, and the identity of a region that has never ceased to have something meaningful to say. There was a time when these hillsides began to fall silent. Abandoned vineyards, forgotten paths, and a landscape that seemed resigned to fading away. Libre y Salvaje was born to alter that fate. Every vineyard we restore is a way of bringing life back to the Sierra de Algairén
We do not pursue the easiest plots, but rather those that still retain a memory. Old Garnacha and Cariñena vines, cultivated amidst stone, wild scrub, and wind, where each vine has survived thanks to a balance that nature has spent decades building.
Every decision made within the winery stems from the very idea that sparked this project: to intervene only when necessary. We allow the vineyard to speak naturally so that each wine preserves the landscape, the vintage, and the individual character of the plot from which it originates.
Restoring an 18th-century palace was never simply a matter of architecture. It was about restoring a piece of Almonacid de la Sierra’s history to its rightful place, enabling our guests to understand that wine is also built upon the memories of the people who once inhabited this land.
